For a friend

For the awesomest senior ever, for the truest friend ever

To assure you this, a poem I write:

You're to me, like a sparkling star in the night;

Like a lamp that guides my way;

The one who prevents my faith to go gray.

In the storms of the dark, you take the lead,

No matter how much, the road is steep.

Deeply you bleed, might even die of pain,

Not a single drop of salt, not a single complaint.

You motivate me, to go for the stars.

That you always said: no dream is bizarre.

“Think outside this world,” you have always said,

“Have a broad vision, with success you’ll be clad.”

Amidst the billions who in this earth, dwell,

Most of them are busy, turning it into hell.

But you, my friend, are different from the rest.

Within your heart lies, full of jewels, a chest.

I don’t want it to end, our friendship to fade.

After you leave this college, I’ll still want your shade.

Who will then guide my path, lighten up my heart?

I do not want you, my friend, to ever part.
